The Letsdirect web site (i.e. www.letsdirect.co.uk), hereafter referred to as the "Web Site", has three main categories of user. General users of the site looking for properties to rent, services or information for tenants - hereafter referred to as "Tenants"; Landlords or agents advertising their company and/or properties on the site - herafter referred to as "Landlords"; Other companies/individuals advertising products and/or services on the site - hereafter referred to as "Advertisers". The nature of the services we provide requires that we collect, store and share personally identifiable information about all users of the web site. How we collect this information and what we do with it is described in the following sections

2.1.1 Personalisation - We may use information we collect to personalise your experience on the web site, for example to automatically complete a form with information you have entered previously. The technology we use to achieve this is known as cookies more information on cookies can be found at www.allaboutcookies.org.uk.

2.1.2 Letsdirect reserves the right (but has no obligation to) monitor all services used on the Web Site. Letsdirect shall have the right to remove or alter any material that violates the law or the Terms Of Use

2.1.3 Letsdirect reserves the right to access and disclose personal information in order to protect itself or it's users, or to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests.

Contact information is captured when a Tenant requests a service from Letsdirect. In order to perform the required service we will make this information available to third parties who we feel may be able to help provide the requested service (for example - the Landlord who owns the property advert that the Tenant is interested in). Tenants will be supplied details of the company/individual to who we make this information available. All Tenant details will be removed from the Web Site when the time period assigned to that service expires.

Landlords are required to register with Letsdirect. Certain personal information is captured during this process. In order to perform the required service (i.e. advertising their company and/or properties to rent) this personal information will be displayed on the web site and may be supplied to or accessed by users of the web site. This information can be altered at any time on-line by logging on to the Landlord administration section using the pin number, username and password which will be emailed to them shortly after registration. Similarly they can completely remove all of their information from the site at any time using this same administration section.

Landlords are given the option of receiving marketing messages from Letsdirect. These messages should not be confused with the email communication Letsdirect will use in order to provide it's services, which may also contain marketing messages. This option can be altered at any time using the Landlord administration section.

Certain information is captured from Advertisers electronically or otherwise. In order to perform the required service (i.e. advertising their company, products and/or services) this information will be displayed on the web site and may be supplied to or accessed by users of the web site. This information can be altered or removed from the Web Site at any time by contacting Letsdirect.

Letsdirect Ltd will not share your personal information with any third parties unless it is in the interest of supplying a service you have requested from the web site.

We follow the security procedures required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998 in order to prevent unauthorised access to the personal information you have given to us. However Letsdirect Ltd shall have no liability to you in respect of any breach of security by a third party.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, you acknowledge that in the course of using the Web Site, any personal information of third parties (e.g. employees, agents, subcontractors) you supply will be captured electronically by us. As such, you must have obtained their express permission to transfer their personal information to us, for us to use, store and process for the purposes set out in this Prvacy Policy, including where such personal data forms part of an advertisement and is posted to the Web Site for access by users inside and outside of the European Economic Area. You shall indemnify Letsdirect from and against all claims by any third parties arising out of your failure to obtain the consent described in this paragraph.

We reserve the right to add or change this Privacy Policy at our discretion, without notice. The new Privacy Policy will come into effect from the time it is posted on the web site. Users should read the Privacy Policy regularly and certainly before entering any personal information on the Web Site.

You acknowledge and agree that in the course of using this Web Site, information about yourself will be captured electronically or otherwise and transmitted to Letsdirect and or, potentially, to any third parties as set out above

You consent to the use, storage, or processing of your personal information by Letsdirect (or any third party Letsdirect use for carrying out credit checks) for the purpose of carrying out any credit checks in the event that you enter into any financial transaction with Letsdirect.

You consent to Letsdirect providing any of the personal information it has collected, as described in this Privacy Policy, to a court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with the court's instructions if ordered to do so by the court.

By using this Web Site, you expressly agree to the collection and use of your personal information as set out above for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
